Angela's Biography
Angela Kay McClure, a native of New Holland, Pennsylvania, loves exploring all the ways that art is able to communicate. Depending on variables such as media, space, light, color, and perception, art can communicate a different message. Angela is thankful to her savior, Jesus Christ, for allowing her to enjoy art, and the opportunities to explore different forms of art as communication.
Angela enjoys using acrylic, oil, pastel, pen, pencil, and watercolor to create art. She also enjoys clay sculpture, jewelry making, and creating cards of her fine art. She has done artwork for commission, and sells much of her work through stores in New Holland.
Angela is the daughter of John and Marvelene McClure, and sister to Steve and Laurie McClure. Growing up, her parents always encouraged her to take advantage of every opportunity available to her. They enabled and cheered her on to always do her very best in every endeavor. Angela participated in a variety of athletics, but her favorite was volleyball--and she continued to play at the collegiate level and Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana. Angela also enjoyed playing in the band and orchestra through Garden Spot High School.
Besides her family, Angela also wants to acknowledge her many art teachers as she was growing up. Specifically, she appreciates Peggy Harnish, her very first instructor, and also Sue Chambers and Sue Cooper, her high school teachers.
Some things that make Angela smile are: Lapp Valley's Peanut Butter Twirl Ice Cream, a big hug from an old friend, painting her toenails, classic chick flicks, looking through old photos, and recieving back massages.
